Ghazala Shahabuddin  

Ghazala Shahabuddin is an ecologist who works on bird ecology, conservation, forest management & policy in India. She is connected with CEDAR as an academic, undertaking research on forest dynamics, land use change and bird communities with a focus on woodpecker species.

Sanjay Sondhi  

Sanjay Sondhi is a naturalist and Founder-Trustee of Titli Trust which is a non-governmental organization working in the areas of urban biodiversity, rewilding, nature-linked tourism, human-wildlife conflict and citizen science in the Himalayas. Sanjay has researched and written extensively on moths, butterflies, herpetofauna and birds in Eastern and Western Himalayas.

Anchal Sondhi is an educator and Founder-Trustee of Titli Trust, and has been connected with nature education and conservation activities in the Himalayas for over twenty years. She has written books on flowers and trees for children. She also teaches at the Welham Girls’ School in Dehradun.

Trainee-Guides

Our trainee-guides belong to the villages around Mukteshwar and Almora including Peora, Sunkiya, Sargakhet, Simayal, Letibunga, Dootkanedhar and Kwarali. They are variously employed in running tourist homestays, teaching, farming and hospitality sector. With the help of our training, they aim to develop and enhance their capacities in nature-linked tourism. We also have two trainees from Delhi and Hyderabad respectively, who both learn from and support the training programme locally.
